28 years and still running... Its the Bangalore chapter of the drinking club with a running problem. We run on (almost) once a month somewhere in the countryside 20-50 km from the centre of town and occasionally indulge in outstation runs and Hash events. |

Run 679 : The Hares Hangover Run Prelude – an exciting evening with about 30 hashers at District 6 at the WTC complex that started at 7 p.m. and went on till 11:30 p.m. on the 20th. Fast Forward to 24th June - VIRRRRRGIIIINS…. hands up. Some hands went up in excitement, some in trepidation, some in horror, some in expectation. For those who responded with horror, please be assured that the GM is not Sanjay Gandhi giving a call for family planning but a deflowering call and towards the preservation of the family jewels. You may just feel a nick in the pants. No cause for alarm. For the other, the lack of limited funds limits us to welcoming you to a bed of ice. We wish we could contribute a little more to the expected orgasmic delight but sadly that’s all we have and a glass of sponsored beer. In any case welcome to the Hash. The virgins for this run were Harish, Vivek, Jagdish, Rakesh, Anirban and not so virgin Cyber who slunk in. Jagdish, the realtor is a future beer sponsor. And Commander Anirban will give Commander Piyush a run for his money 😊. Vivek is searching for a job – good luck to him. Rakesh, an expert on networks like Tinder and Grindr….Laid & Ran got his namesake virgin named as Laid & Ran Again! A first for a first timer! The run was a foreplay, teaser, a a feathery touch to excite and to work up a sweat. The drizzle assisted to give a show of sweaty bodies. The trail meandered through green vegetation, fields and a tank bund. A desolate building on an un-ploughed land that could be described as a 1bhk room from afar turned out to be a small shrine or did it become a shrine after the owner was discovered in it by his spouse, on the true nature of his nocturnal visits. Who knows, He must be buried under it. Next time do spend a moment here to mourn this unsung martyr and brave soul. RIP. It was a quick pleasant run – with natural sounds of peacocks in heat and birds making noise at being disturbed in their natural habitat, cool breeze and a happy group of hashers. Ample time to stroll around the farm house , have enlightening conversations and network with fellow Hashers. Physical activity apps like Grindr, Tinder came to the fore for the furtherance of enhanced wellbeing in daily life. Yoga promoted by PM stands no such chance. Such productive networking happens only in the Hash. I sincerely hope these discussions do contribute to a healthy lifestyle for fellow Hashers. However a note of caution, kindly do so in discreet or we will be making visits to a few more shrines. Thank you for the cake on the occasion of the birthday of GM and Navya. Many tired hands needed the calories especially for a good nights sleep. Sandwiches and milk cake sweets rounded up the offerings along with the amber fluids at the hash bar. 5bucks5bucks5bucks was iced and also later lead the hash hymn. Winky Wanka was iced as returner.
