27 years and still running... Its the Bangalore chapter of the drinking club with a running problem. We run on (almost) once a month somewhere in the countryside 20-35 km from the centre of town and occasionally indulge in outstation runs and Hash events. |
Nash Hash 2018 - Bangalore Hash back with a blast of fun and ecstacy!

26-28th January - Starting with a prelube at Arbor and continuing fun with a relay run and more runs and exciting evenings at Club Mahindra Virajpet farmhouse - some 165 hashers had a great start to the Hashing year.
Nash Hash 2018 was an event that was acknowledged by all visiting hashers that BH3 is back with a bang! An objective that the mismanagement team had set up for itself. 165 hashers registered for the event, including nearly 10 right down to the wire, and a stowaway, who paid his rego at Virajpet! With 125+ hashers kicking of the event at the Prelube at Arbor - the bonhomie and cheer was fired up with the adoption of Arbor Breweries as our home pub, where we will have events every month or so. Started at 6:30 p.m and ended at 9:30 p.m. so that hashers could wake up in time for the early morning buses at 5 a.m. the next day. Fortuitously, the bandh call on 25th had no impact on the evenings attendance. Day 1 of the event saw hashers boarding the buses next to Chinnaswamy stadium with the last bus leaving by 6:15 a.m. The heavy outbound traffic and sumptuos breakfast at Swati Delicacy enroute, ensured that the relay run did not start before 12:30 p.m. but with full enthu, we truncated the relay to half its original length with the Green lanterns winning the competitive timing for their segment. Lunch was organized with great Faasos biryani travelling all the way from Bangalore in transport sponsored by Big Basket and served through a live counter at the Periyapatna sports stadium some 240 km from Bangalore! The relay continued after lunch with last team running more than their share of 8.5 km segment thanks to good mismanagement. However, the convoy arrived at Club Mahindra Virajpet and folks registered and completed the first days circle in the lawns. Ice for the event was organised from Mysore with some 20 slabs trucked for the 3 days! The evenings program with Karaoke and DJ and a full fledged bar enable hashers to chill and relax for an early evening that ended by 11:15 p.m. Come 27th January, and after a quick breakfast hashers boarded buses headed to the backwater location of Harangi dam some 40 km away. Just as we were happily moving, Ninja Shaan (from mother hash) and his wife had to return back as his wife fell sick...only to later rejoin us at the circle. The marquee run started at around 12:30 p.m. and meandered its way around the entralling backwaters of the dam, pristine and calm, to ultimately wind up at teh Coorg Lagoon resort for a lakeside lunch slaked with hash beer, Coorg pork and more. The circle honored BH3 GM for efforts to revive Bangalore Hash and a lot of other fun. We finally wound up at 3:30 p.m. and headed back to the resort. The evenings program started at about 7:30 p.m. with some wacky games that engaged and involved nearly everyone - with the hoop contest, Hammo wants, selfie frame competition, beer drinking and dancing away into the night - with the party ending finally at 1:15 am. 28th January saw the recovery run start at 9:00 a.m. with the Lungi Treasure hunt, that was a blast with hashers looking for tokens that were strewn in the plantation area of the resort, which were later exchanged for bottles of amber fluid at the circle which finally crowned the Lungi Queen LitHerBum - Jayalakshmi. And Nash Hash finally wound up at 11 a.m. And the buses trundled homewards with hashers having happy memories of 3 exciting days. However, the bus drivers had plans of their own, enacting a bus driving marathon by taking several buses onto the crowded Mysore Bangalore highway - reaching bangalore only by 10:30 to midnight! One of the odd sore spots - which was quickly forgotten..
